How to Build Backlinks Consistently for Higher Rankings

Are all backlinks created equal? While all incoming links count towards the total link strength, keep in mind that a link coming from a highly popular site/page, on a topic related to yours, will have significantly more link strength than a link coming from a less popular, or off-topic page/site. But they all count, so be sure to get links. All kinds of links! Ranking will become easier and easier the more link strength your page/site possess.

Google Page Rank (PR) = Measurement of total link strength – In Google, this link strength is quantified in the unit of measure called Page Rank, or PR. If you download the google toolbar for your browser, you will see the PR bar which will allow you to see the PR of a particular page or site you are visiting. Remember though, that the PR bar is updated approximately every 3-4 months so it’s not completely accurate or up to date, but the actually PR behind the scenes is more or less in real time. Another thing about the PR unit of measure is that it works more like a Richter scale, in that each level up becomes much harder than the previous level. For example, if it takes 1 generic backlink to achieve PR 1, it may take 10 of those to achieve PR 2, and perhaps 100 of those similar backlinks to achieve PR 3, etc.
The bottom line of ranking high – Now that you know how SEO works in a nutshell, it should be obvious to you that in order to rank high for ANY keyword, you need to build backlinks to your page that has content optimized for that keyword! Get that concept into your head until you live and breathe it.

So how do I get LOTS of backlinks? There are many ways to get backlinks to your page or site. Some typical ways are commenting on other blogs, posting in forums, submitting your site to directories, exchanging links with other websites (but keep in mind reciprocal links are not as effective as one-way links), etc. As you can see, to build 100s or even 1000s of backlinks can be time consuming! Who has the time or discipline to do this on a regular basis? This leads us to the next step…

Automated Link Building Process
– Now that we know the importance of link building, as well as how time consuming it may be, we need to come up with a way to let link building happen without having to do it ourselves. Here are some ways you can make it happen consistently without you having to do too much work.

1) Outsource the link – exchange process: If you have your own website, you’ve probably seen a ton of email solicitations from other webmasters (or their representative from India) to exchange links with you. If you outsource this, you won’t need to solicit other webmasters yourself, which is tedious work! But remember, you would still have to add each outgoing link to each of the link-exchange partners. If you don’t know how to add new links to your “links/resources” page, perhaps you can outsource this too.

2) Use the 30-Minute Backlink system: This system allows you to create 100s and even 1000s of one-way backlinks to your site, and all you have to do is to fill out some information and let the software do the work. I’ve used this and highly recommend it.

3) Participate in a 3 or more way link-exchange community: In this type of community or program, basically you have thousands of webmasters like yourself participating, and the automated system will manage and create the backlinks to your site or even a deep page, automatically! It’s the most effective and hands-off system I’ve ever seen. This is powerful because you are not exchanging reciprocal links. The system makes sure that you link out to site B, and site B links to site C, and then site C (or even site D, E, F, G, etc.) will link back to you. There would be no direct exchange of links! Each link would be considered a one-way backlink to your site or page. And get this, all this is done consistently, automatically, and will look very natural in the eyes of the search engines because the links are added gradually, a few each day.

There you have it. SEO is simply after all. It really just takes consistent link-building to get to the top. ANYONE can do it. And now with the automated link-building tools and programs available, there’s no excuse to not rank anymore!
